Signup is now available for the the first ever TAMS Community event TAMSCon.
This post is intended to support the communication set out on 28th January 2026, which details the process of moving TAMS towards open governance. This document details how the remaining two seats on the initial TAMS TSC will be filled.
In 2023 BBC Research & Development made the first open source release of TAMS at https://github.com/bbc/tams/, and has owned the repository and co-ordinated contributions ever since. However as more systems, solutions and products are built on TAMS, it is clear that it should be owned by the community, and a more formal process put in place to govern the project and ensure longevity and stability.
TVBEurope have publised a dedicated three page article focusing on TAMS in their December issue.
On Thursday 27th November the IBC demonstration of Next Generation News Distribution using TAMS won the Broadcast Tech Innovation award. The award is for the work by Reuters, UK Parliamentary Broadcasting Unit and AWS did to build the multi-company demonstration.
